BIOGRAPHY

★April, 2001:
OCEANLANE form in Kichijoji, Tokyo by two college friends (who actually were already friends since middle school) Hajime (v&g) and Kay (g&v).

★April, 2002:
Drummer and bassist joins in, and officially began playing shows in the Tokyo area.

★April, 2003:
Released a self-financed, 1,000 copies limited 1st EP "Everlasting Scene" (demo), primarily sold through an online hc/emo mailorder website "STM", establishing a quickly growing fanbase in the underground scene.

★June, 2003:
New school hardcore legend EVERLAST's ex-members Ho Lee Kwan (b) and MASAYA (d) joins in to record the first full-length album at Soundcrew Studio in Saitama, Japan.

★July, 2003:
Opened for a post-hardcore band ELLIOTT for their Japan tour at Shimokitazawa Era, supporting a non-Japanese band for the first time!

★November, 2003:
Originally scheduled for a November release, however due to various reasons the first album release pushed back to the following year.

★December, 2003:
Limited maxi-single "Sign" released. OCEANLANE has been chosen for the supporting act for THE ALL AMERICAN REJECTS at Shinjuku Liquid Room.

★January, 2004:
Performed on the MTV Stage for VANS WARPED TOUR '04 WINTER.

★February, 2004:
Released the still-longselling first full-length album "On My Way Back Home" from Handicraft Recordings (#1 on DISK UNION Indie Chart, #2 on TOWER RECORDS SHIBUYA's Indie Chart & #1 on their Longseller Chart).

★May, 2004:
Opened for LAST DAYS OF APRIL for their Tokyo gig @ Harajuku Astro Hall.

★June, 2004:
Opened for THE GET UP KIDS for their Osaka gig.

★August, 2004:
Released a 3-song maxi "Out Of Reason", strongly inspired by a film "The United States of Leland", under music supervision of SUNNY DAY REAL ESTATE vocalist /guitarist Jeremy Enigk.

★September, 2004:
Performed on a music event "GSGP Project" in Osaka, sharing the stage with the likes of COME BACK MY DAUGHTER, lostage, etc.

★November, 2004:
Opened for a Canadian act THE STILLS on their Tokyo gig.
Also performed on a music event "STYLE 2004", sharing the stage with U.K.'s HOPE OF THE STATES, STRAIGHTENER, etc.
They also went on their first national tour in support of the "Out Of Reason".

★March, 2005:
Opened for BOWLING FOR SOUP in Osaka @ Shinsaibashi Club Quattro.
Performed on the biggest indie label showcase convention Independence-D Vol.0 in Tokyo @ Shinkiba Studio Coast.
Played a headliner show in Tokyo @ Shibuya Club Quattro, with TOKYO ROSE as the supporting act.

★April, 2005:
Toured with JIMMY EAT WORLD for all dates on their Japan tour.

★July, 2005:
Released the album "On My Way Back Home" reissue limited special edition.
Played an acoustic show with COPELAND in Tokyo @ Nishiazabu Super Deluxe.
OCEANLANE's first of the periodical tour series "Lighting Up Our Cities Vol.1"; toured with COPELAND and BRANDTSON (Tokyo show sold out).
Their long awaited dream finally comes true when they performed on "FUJI ROCK FESTIVAL '05" (RED MARQUEE Stage)!

★August, 2005:
Hit the studios in Japan for recording their second full-length "Kiss & Kill" having a producer who is also FIRESIDE guitarist Pelle Gunnerfeldt (THE HIVES, LAST DAYS OF APRIL, REFUSED, STARMARKET) all the way from Sweden working behind the board. Back tracks recorded in Tokyo, vocals recorded in Okinawa.

★September, 2005:
Mixed and mastered (and recorded additional sections in Stockholm, Sweden.

★November, 2005:
Their long-awaited second full-length "Kiss & Kill" released.
Toured in support of the release with The Militia Group band CARTEL as their supporting act.
